The Palau de la Música Catalana offers different spaces for visitors to enjoy their meals. I made an email reservation in advance for lunch at Café Palau where is located on the left side of the entrance and is open to the public. You can also dine here without buying tickets to visit the Palau de la Música Catalana.
The entrance has a high vaulted ceiling, and the chandelier is carefully marked with the name of the Catalan choir association "Orfeó Català", the builder of the Palace of Music
Following the decoration style of the Palace of Music, the beams and ceilings of Cafe Palau are decorated with flowers made of ceramics.
As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can see the whole piece of stained glass decoration above the bar, which is quite eye-catching.
Enjoy the space design while dining
Here you can enjoy the unique space design of the Art Nouveau style while dining. After all, not all restaurants can hire the founder of modernism, architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner to design.
The restaurant is divided into partitions and has a spacious space. Some groups have dinner here, so the reservation in advance will not be empty. However, if the online reservation is not available and not canceled, the credit card will be charged.
Outdoor alfresco space with parasols in summer and heating in winter. Although the Catalan Music Palace is a well-known scenic spot, there are not many tourists in the restaurant, and it is a rare place where you can enjoy delicious food quietly.
Three-course set meal + a drink for only "16 euros"
The menu always has only three-course set meals to choose from. I chose the avocado-based appetizer with tomatoes, purple onions, almonds and coriander, a very typical Mediterranean diet, and a glass of lemonade.
As I like avocado, I was thinking about how to imitate this dish when I return to Taiwan.
I chose the Iberian pig for the main course. I thought the Iberian pig was famous for its deliciousness, but maybe the pig was not cooked well on that day. I think it smells a bit fishy, but the taste is acceptable.
Finally, for dessert, I chose pudding, which tasted okay.
Such a three-course set meal only costs 16 euros, which can be called cheap and good. It is really a dining experience that kills two birds with one stone.
