The Palace of Music of Catalonia is located in the most beautiful area of Barcelona 'San Pere district', built between 1905 and 1908 by the modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Catalon The Palazzo de la Musica has its origins in the "Orfeó Català", a very popular amateur music association in Barcelona founded in 1891, who wanted to create a special performance venue for themselves and other artists. Therefore, funds were raised from wealthy businessmen and industrialists to build it.

"Orfeó Català" hired Barcelona's most famous star architect at that time, 'Domènech i Montaner' (Domènech i Montaner), to design and build this music palace. Luis Domenech Montaner is the modern Founder and one of the most important exponents of Christianity, alongside Antoni Gaudi. He wanted to build the Catalan Music Palace into a "music garden" that not only immerses the public in it, but also enriches the atmosphere of this extraordinary building. Fascinated by the details.

Designed around a central metal structure covered with glass, the modernist building is beautifully decorated with all the decorative arts: sculpture, mosaics, stained glass and ironwork. And the introduction of natural light turns Domenech Montaner's masterpiece into a magical colorful music box.

The Concert Auditorium

The Concert Hall is one of the most distinctive concert halls in the world and has been a privileged venue for national and international music events in the city of Barcelona for centuries. It has hosted many world premieres, including landmark symphonic and choral music. The auditorium is dominated by the pipe organ on the stage. Whenever a tourist who participates in the tour enters, it will start to play.

A central skylight in the ceiling depicts the sun, flooding the auditorium with natural light. Surrounding figures such as the muses, the stage is flanked by two majestic sculptures, a bust of Anselm Clavé on one side and Beethoven on the other. ), these symbolize folk and classical music. There are also natural motifs such as flowers, palm trees or fruit. The stage is dominated by the organ, which can be heard again after restoration in 2004. The 16 muses around the stage play different instruments from different countries and regions. Symbolizing the spirit of the Palazzo de Musica Catalunya 'every genre of music should find its own suitable performance venue.

The Full-room Stained Glass is
Beautiful and Admirable

Ascending to the third floor, you can feel the shock of the beautiful stained glass in the room, and the dreamlike scene makes you reluctant to blink. Extensive stained glass windows let in natural light, transforming Domenech Montaner's masterpiece into a magical musical treasure box and giving it an indescribable atmosphere. Light streams in through stained-glass windows and a central skylight, a downward-curving glass and colored dome that symbolizes the sun. The entire building is beautifully decorated with sculptures, mosaics, stained glass and ironwork.

It can be imagined that listening to a performance in such a music palace, the scene's beautiful space design and audio-visual resonance will arouse the audience's inner excitement and shock. It must be an unparalleled comprehensive visual and auditory enjoyment.

The sun shines through the stained glass to present colorful colors, and the entire Music Palace is filled with a sense of mysterious beauty. I used to like stained glass very much. I was intoxicated in the colorful world and couldn't bear to blink. It must be a visual and auditory double enjoyment to enjoy music performances in this world heritage music venue.

The stained glass with flower pattern surrounding the seating area on the third floor and the detailed mosaics on the beams and columns are highlight. It is recommended to sit on the third floor for a while, carefully appreciate the beautiful scenes created by the magnificent stained glass and sculptures in the room, and feel the profound charm of this world heritage.

After admiring the concert hall, walk down from the third floor, and you can enjoy the beautiful scene of the high foyer stairwell at the entrance in the stairwell. The detailed carvings on the stairs add an elegant and artistic sense.

Before leaving, I took a last look and left memories. I hope to have a chance to visit again next time. By then, the exterior restoration has been completed, and I can get a glimpse of the whole picture of this beautiful music palace.

Lluís Millet Hall

Lluís Millet Hall, a half-time meeting place dedicated to the founder of Orfeó Català, Master Millet. The hall is two stories high, with huge stained glass windows decorated with floral motifs through which balconies can be seen, and its double colonnades are decorated with unique colors and decorations. It's a pity that the scaffolding used for the restoration of the exterior of the Palace of Music made the glass window much less attractive. the

Cafe Palau

Walking into the entrance of the Catalan Music Palace, you can see the foyer on the first floor, which is currently the location of Cafe Palau. The wide arch made of bricks and glazed ceramics with green floral patterns brings a unique style and atmosphere to this area. The structure integrated with the ceiling makes this space unique. Please note that this restaurant is open to the public, and you can enter and dine without purchasing tickets for the Palace of Music. I pre-booked for lunch and was in such a good mood dining in such a beautiful space. To share the meals and experience here, please click the link below to read the full text
