In the ten years since graduating from Durham University Business School in the UK, my alma mater has built a brand-new building on the riverbank, which officially opened in September 2024. Located in the city center, on the banks of the River Will, this new business school is just a 7-minute walk from the city center, with supermarkets, shops, cafes, and restaurants all within walking distance – offering much better living amenities than the Millhill Business School.
Completed in 2024, this new building houses the MBA, DBA, and executive education programs. It also serves as the resource center for the entire business school.
The high atrium lets in sunlight, making even the building entrance bright.
Compared to the two-story Mill Hill Business School I attended ten years ago; this new four-story business school is obviously much more modern and well-equipped.
Luxury Harvard-style Classroom
The classrooms for MBA students have a Harvard-style seating arrangement and are much more spacious than those at Millhill where I studied before.
Spacious and Modern Study Space
Spacious and modern study spaces are crucial for MBA students with heavy workloads after class. I recall the days when I had to leave my personal belongings in the Millhill Business School library to reserve a spot to study after class. Surprisingly, the study spaces for different situations and needs are thoughtfully set up in various corners across its four floors at this new building.
These small meeting rooms are suitable for group discussions and individual study sessions, and are controlled by tablets.

The open discussion space also equipped with card verification equipment, so there is no need to worry about others taking your seat when you temporarily leave.
The four-story building equipped with seating areas throughout, allowing students to freely find a seat to chat, discuss, socialize, or do homework. It is incredibly convenient. I cannot help but envy today's business school students for having the opportunity to pursue their degrees at Durham University Business School, with its excellent location, spacious facilities, and state-of-the-art equipment. They are sure to enjoy a much smoother academic experience.
